New Old Fashioned

The original cocktail, dating back to 1806 was made with any kind of spirit, sugar, bitters, and ice and called a Whiskey Cocktail, Gin Cocktail, etc. Around the mid 1800’s bartenders began experimenting with mixed drinks of all varieties but those wanting the original asked for an ‘Old Fashioned Whiskey Cocktail.’ That was eventually shortened to an ‘Old Fashioned.’ Try the original with American, an Old Fashioned-worthy vodka blended from Midwest wheat, rye, potato, and corn. The vodka of whiskey lovers.

Prep Time

5 minutes
    • 2 oz American Liquor Co Vodka

    • .25 oz Demerara syrup

    • 2-3 dashes Angostura bitters

    • Orange peel

    • Cherry

  • Combine vodka, demerara syrup, and bitters in mixing glass with ice

    Stir it up

    Strain into Double Old Fashioned glass over king cube
